not bad as you head out this monday morning. at a couple of things to start with. in abbeyton, hidden stream drive, an accident there. take pulaski highway or 95. looking good once you get to the north side of the beltway right at 62 miles per hour. through the parkville region, 63 to green spring. jfx checking out okay. and we're looking at speeds on average of 59 miles per hour travelling from 795 from i-70. take a look at drive times. 95 merge down to the harvard tunnel toll. five minutes to go to the 895 split to ft. mchenry and 20 minutes on the beltway south between 32. the area of 29 and 108 in ellicott city. northbound and southbound traffic light at this hour. a live view and see how it's

faring on 795. southbound traffic going away at franklin boulevard. a little heavier there. once you get closer to owings mills and the beltway looking heavier in that area. that's the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> big story. the night the orioles fans were clamoring for for 15 long seasons and then it finally arrived. postseason baseball in baltimore. >> for eight inning, everything was great. then the wheels came off in the ninth. keith gilbert has details on the loss. >> fans waited 15 year to have postseason baseball here at camden yards. it was a packed house last night. a beautiful setting. they all had orange towels waving throughout. it's one of the games that's always great and the fans didn't have to be prompted to stand up and cheer. you didn't need the score board to tell you this was a baseball

crowd. some postseason action. for eight inning, played beautifully. tied two apiece. in the ninth, jim johnson, the closer, not accustomed to coming in with a tie game. he did not have the command. that point forward. so a 7-2 loss incredibly disappointing indeed for the orioles. back at it monday night. and get to see what they are made of. all year long, they placed diversity. pulled together. managed to come together and get the job done. that's the past night. pretty important. if they go down 0-2 and they have to go to new york for a three-game sweep, likelihood of that is not good. tonight's game two is a must win. camden yards, i'm pete gilbert, send it back to you. >> any time outside of camden yards on sunday night, you know there's no shortage of opinions of what went wrong and where the club goes from here.

guys. >> all right, jenn, thank you very much. interesting sock monkey. >> i like it, i want one. >> the players and the fans aren't the only ones that are hoping the o's will continue the postseason run. so are businesses cashing in on the success. kim dacey reports live from pickles pub downtown to explain. hey, kim. >> hey, businesses like pickle pub right across the street from camden yards are waiting and hoping for the playoff series. the o's being in the playoffs is good for businesses all over town. the o's won on friday night. the wild card game. after that, a local sportswear shop worked all night to print new playoff t-shirts and g emthem on the racks for fans. bars and restaurants set up barriers for the crowd that couldn't make it to the ballpark before the game. security experts strategize for a busy beginning of the week. pickles pub and other areas expect to cash in big time. to them, it seems like opening day all over again.

good morning, a live view of the stadium. much milder than what it's like up to the north. temperatures dropping to the low 40s and upper 30s. check of the forecast around baltimore today in a little bit. first, i want to talk about the o's tonight. yesterday saw a significant rain delay of 2 1/2 hours because of

the rain. we have to worry about the rain again tonight. there's areas of rain likely to push back on in. we're starting the day off dry. but as gates start to open, rain becomes popular. temperatures to be in the mid 50s for downtown. first pitch, 8:07, rain becomes more likely. 55 for the temperature at first pitch. the end of the game, 50 degrees drop to the 40s. the best chances for rain coming in the game. the things look a little better for the rest of the series as the orioles head to yankees stadium thursday through friday. wednesday, a slight chance of rain after the game. thursday, a lot of sunshine. and on friday, a few more clouds mostly sunny. 61 for the first pitch temperature. today, that will be the bigger concern. the rain will fare a little better for the rest of the series. we can get the forecast. but it will be up to the official whether or not that causes a delay. >> i'm going ask you to do some sports analysis. stan and i were talking about

we agree to disagree. >> jet stream is big way down to the south. when we have that setup on the east coast, know the temperatures are below average. 41 at the airport. down to 36 in frederick right now. could be some frost in the far western suburbs. nothing around baltimore like that. don't be surprise if you're around frederick county and nothing but frost on the windshield. clouds thickening up from the next storm system. and there's the rain that could arise here overnight tonight. during the day, fine, but tonight, unfortunately, the possibility of a little more rain. until that time, increasing clouds or a mix of sun and clouds and some of those rain showers could arrive late th afternoon and this evening, but most of the day will be dry. the high temperature 57 degrees, the average high,er 69. we're going to get back to the 60s tomorrow, 62 on tuesday. 70 on wednesday. the warmest day of the week.

from us. building in volume. overall, still moving well at this point down to owings mills and to the beltway. the latest on traffic pulse 11 back to you. top stories this morning, federal officials believe last week's deadly shooting of a border patrol agent appears to be the result of friendly fire. the head of the union says 31-year-old nicholas ivy opened fire on two fellow agents leading them to the armed smugglers. he was killed when the agents returned fire. he'll be buried later this morning. controversial venezuelan president hugo chavez is winning a new six-year term in office surviving the closest race yet, the socialist leader won more than 50% of the vote over the venezuelan governor who accused chavez of reducing power of the oil wealth to his personal advantage. they expect to embolden chavez to strengthen his ties. bridezilla has nothing on this. this is what happens when a pair

of weddings turned into an all-out brawl with four people arrested. investigators believed this mainly originally started among members of one wedding party. but then someone reportedly from a second winning party at a hotel was sit into something and the situation went downhill from there. by the time the philadelphia police arrived, 75 to 100 people fighting knocking several of the brides to the ground. several people injured. the uncle of one of the brides died of a heart attack. in this morning's consumer alert, if you haven't booked your holiday flight for thanksgiving, do it quickly before the prices climb any higher. according to the l.a. times, flights for thanksgiving week are up 3% over last year. priceline.com recorded the average round trip ticket for thanksgiving is $393. a priceline spokesman said it's unlikely prices will drop and

could rise if fuel cost increase or demand stays strong. paying at the pump for drivers at california but it's not too bad here in baltimore. we have the bloomberg business report. >> good morning. they keep the doctor away, but they're not going to be good for your budget. apple prices may be about to climb as much as $1 a pound. the warm early spring followed by a cold snap nipped this year's crop in the bud hurting new york and michigan and other key apple growing areas according to "usa today" apple juice prices may surge 20%. california motorists facing record high gas prices after refinery problems. the gallon of regular on average is now a record $4.66. that's according to triple a. and prices are more than $1 higher than that in some stations in san diego. governor jerry brown is directing regulators to relax smog controls to allow refineries to increase supplies of cheaper oil. in baltimore, gas prices are about $3.67 a gallon.

game tied at two in the ninth. the yankees scored five runs to win it 7-2. now, the start of the game was delayed by two hours and 26 minutes because of rain. did not diminish the fans' enthusiasm, let me tell you. yankees up in the third. chris davidson. threaten a few more times but could not score another run. in the ninth, jim johnson on to keep it tied at two. did not happen. russell martin on a 2-0 pitch. nate mcleod can't bring it back. 3-2, yankees. raul ibanez, derek jeter. watch ichiro, a swinging bunt. man, if you're going good, you're going good. yankees score three more times. 7-2. game two tonight, 8:15 at camden yards. andy petit will pitch. now the ravens survive again, 9-6, the ravens beat the chiefs yesterday in kansas city the first time since november of 2009. the ravens did not score a touchdown. but, again, they find a way to win the game.

it was definitely not pretty. kansas city turned the ball over four times including a fumble on the goal line from matt cassel. oh, man, ed reeve scoots it up. returns it to the 12. one of four kansas city turnovers. drives 80 rds yeah. ends with justin tucker's 26-yard field goal. 9-6, the ravens in trouble. third and 15 from his own 15. joe flacco, remember last year against the patriots in the afc championship. ran for a couple of big first downs. none bigger this year than that one. the ravens run out the clock. they win 9-6, john harbaugh and the ravens now 4 and 1 on the year. >> 4 and 1 on the season. >> we did what we needed to do to win the game. that's what's important. that's the main thing. we should celebrate that. our guys did find a way to win. if you look at it, there were games last year, truthfully, we won four in a row against teams that maybe we weren't expecting

released about the patient. the centers for disease control and prevention said there are 90 confirmed cases across nine states. seven people have died including one person here in maryland. >> city homicide detectives are investigating a shooting in northwest baltimore. the woman shot in the 6300 block of fairlawn avenue before 10:00 last night. she was taken to an area hospital where she passed away. no word on a suspect or possible motive. in this 2012 report, a critical cross roads for both campaigns 29 days before election day. both are jockeying for the lead. hallie jackson tell us about momentum as reuters polls show romney closing the gap after last week's debate. >> we had a good week last week, a good week this week and a good week after. you take one day at a time.

but what we are questioning is if we do see rain, it's going to cause any problems. as we know yesterday, the rain came right in time for the game and that caused a 2 1/2 hour delay. tonight, unfortunately, the best chances for rain are going to come again during game time. we're expecting slight chances of rain but those should be increasing as we get to first pitch as the temperatures will be in the mid 50s. so if you are going to the game, dress in layers and have a waterproof layer as well as we look at the seven-day forecast. 57 for the high today. it's only going to be in the mid 50s. for the game, best chances of rain coming in late in the afternoon towards the evening hours. another front on wednesday. that could bring slight chances of rain with the high of 70 degrees. 60s in the rest of the week by friday. another chance of rain. but tonight, if you want to be fashionable, a big orange poncho. that's the best. sam? >> good advice. >> 6:48, 40 degrees at bwi.
